Le lancement d'un portail de la PROPRIÉTÉ INTELLECTUELLE dans le cadre de l'ASEAN

Le portail de la propriété intellectuelle de l'ASEAN (ASEAN IP Portal) a été mis en service en mai à l'adresse www.aseanip.org. 

Ce portail fournit des informations sur la propriété intellectuelle de l'ASEAN et de chacun de ses pays membres, en vue de la Communauté économique de l'ASEAN en 2015. 

Il s'agit d'un événement revêtant une signification importante pour le développement des systèmes de protection de la propriété intellectuelle de la région ainsi que de chacun de ses Etats membres. 

Ce portail est découpé en différentes rubriques : groupe de travail de l'ASEAN sur la coopération dans la propriété intellectuelle (Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation - AWGIPC), activités concernant la propriété intellectuelle au sein de l'ASEAN, données statistiques et sources d'informations relatives à la propriété intellectuelle, coopération internationale. 

De plus, il facilite la circulation des informations au sein du réseau de connaissances de propriété intellectuelle de la région et permet aux intervenants d'accéder aux informations pertinentes - et recoupées - telles que les notifications et procédures sur l'examen des brevets de l'ASEAN (ASEAN Patent Examination Cooperation-ASPEC), une nouvelle initiative de partage du travail pour la recherche et l'examen en matière de brevets au sein de l'Association.

International Colloquium on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)

Public-private partnership (PPP) can help the governments to boost their infrastructures' development. In Cambodia, one of the very developed technique of PPP is the concession contract (such as Build-Operate-Transfer "BOT" contract).

Myanmar Accedes to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards


VIENNA, 26 April (UN Information Service) - Myanmar has deposited its instrument of accession to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, commonly known as the New York Convention. With its accession, Myanmar becomes the 149th State party to the Convention. The Convention will enter into force for Myanmar on 15 July 2013.
The New York Convention is widely recognized as a foundation instrument of international arbitration. It requires courts of contracting States to give effect to arbitration agreements and to recognize and enforce awards made in other States, subject to specific limited exceptions.

Its mandate is to remove legal obstacles to international trade by progressively modernizing and harmonizing trade law. Cambodia Power Company v. Kingdom of Cambodia (ICSID Case No. ARB/09/18)

Government wins plant row - After years of arbitration, the government has been awarded compensation in a little-known dispute with the Cambodia Power Company, who had claimed nearly $300 million in damages from the Electricite du Cambodge (EDC) for violating the terms of an agreement to build and operate a power plant in the Kingdom, a government press release said.
